Valley Health Center at East ValleyBiggs Cardosa provided structural engineering design for a new Santa Clara County medical facility. The building is a 42,000 sf steel moment frame building that incorporated state-of-the-art connections tested by the SAC Joint Venture Management Committee following the Northridge Earthquake. A prominent feature of this structure is the use of a variety of geometric forms in the architecture design, such as cylinder shapes and skewed angles that led to the development of unique structural solutions. Biggs Cardosa worked with the lead architects in the development of several architectural features of the building, including the exterior walls, monument stairs, and supports for medical equipment. |
