Main Street Arch Bridge

Main Street Arch Bridge Rehabilitation

The existing Main Street Bridge carries two lanes of traffic over Pilarcitos Creek in downtown Half Moon Bay. The existing arch bridge has served over 100 years as a critical element of the City’s beautiful downtown setting and is the gateway to the historic downtown commercial and residential area south of the creek.  Biggs Cardosa was contracted by the City of Half Moon Bay to rehabilitate the existing historic structure and eliminate the deficiencies that have tagged this structure as a structurally deficient and functionally obsolete. The Main Street Bridge Project will require careful balancing of many objectives including rehabilitation work, environmental impact, relationship to the adjacent trails, parks and greenway, and its function for bicycles and pedestrians, as well as vehicles, and phasing of the construction to minimize traffic impacts.
