Responsibilities

  • • Function in a key technical role in all aspects of structures from conceptual and preliminary design to final design and construction
  • • Develop plans, details, specifications, and calculations for transportation projects including culverts, retaining walls and pre-stressed concrete,  steel, vehicular, pedestrian and rail bridges
  • • Check design calculations
  • • Develop quantity take-offs and cost estimates
  • • Lead and mentor junior-level engineers


The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

  • • Strong technical, oral, written, and problem-solving skills
  • • Prepare written technical memos and reports
  • • High personal standards for quality control
  • • Strong work ethic with the ability to thrive in a team environment

  • • Knowledge of AREMA code 
  • • AASHTO code and Caltrans bridge design standards
  • • Proficiency in CSI Bridge, MIDAS, or similar analysis and design software
  • • Design-build project experience a plus


Professional Requirements

  • • Minimum 6-8 years of structure design experience with a strong technical background in bridges, retaining walls, and drainage structures
  • • Minimum 2 years of experience in California
  • • Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering
  • • California Professional Engineer (PE) License
  • • Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering (preferred)

Our Orange County and Sacramento offices are looking for a Senior Project Engineer to lead a bridge design team and perform design, analysis and structural engineering tasks for exciting infrastructure and complex bridge projects. Responsibilities include:

  • • Manage a staff of 2-3 engineers
  • • Lead and manage design team's engineering deliverables for bridge transportation projects of various sizes
  • • Lead the development of plans, details, specifications, and cost estimates for bridges and transportation structures
  • • Prepare written technical memos and reports
  • • Perform quality control for structure plan sets
  • • Maintain task budgets and schedules
  • • Define scope, schedule, and budget requirements for projects
  • • Communicate with clients regarding project issues
  • • Attend Project Development Meetings
  • • Visit project sites as needed
  • • Assist in business development and proposal efforts

Professional Requirements:

  • • Minimum of 10-12 years of experience working on bridge structures from conceptual and preliminary design to final design and construction
  • • Minimum 4 years of experience in California

Job Description:

Is a Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) or at a minimum holds an E.I.T. certification. Receives supervision from experienced engineers on non-routine, complex projects and assignments.  Working under general supervision but is very familiar with design processes and programs. Performs engineering work that requires application of standard techniques and procedures.  Develops individual details and plan sheets for drafting. Demonstrates directed creativity and initiative and can perform Inspection Roles.  Typically possesses 2 – 5 years  of experience.

Job Description:
Assist in the preparation of design, specification and details for structural engineering construction projects. Assist with layouts of structural drawings, and specifications. Assist in the preparation of specifications detailing calculations, design, and analysis. Assist in preparation of production contract documents and quality take-off and cost estimates. Draft all documents in compliance with local, regional, and state building codes.

We are seeking a Structures Project Engineer, with a California P.E. and 5 to 8 years of design experience on building or bridge projects. The ideal candidate graduated with Bachelor’s Civil/Structural degree or Master’s Structural degree from an accredited U.S. Institution and has shown stable employment with increasing responsibility. Experience should show ability to work independently, lead the production of structural calculations and the preparation of structural plans. Strong technical skills are essential.

This position offers the opportunity to be involved in the most exciting transportation project of this generation, the construction of America’s first High Speed Train. The position is in our Fresno office, in the heart of California. Salaries are competitive with those offered in the San Francisco Bay Area or Southern California, but at a fraction of the cost of living. Fresno is 1 hour from Yosemite, 2 hours from skiing and 2-1/2 hours from the beach.
